Blessed Is The Man Who Is Not Deceived

Have you ever noticed, that while watching your favorite TV program or even a program you’re really interested in that we seem to be watching more commercials than programs? Do you ever wonder why that is? Well it’s a marketing tool where a manufacturer is trying to interest the viewer into buying their product, whether the viewer needs it or not. To take it a step further, have you even considered the amount of money these manufacturers spend on marketing their products? Just to name a few, there’s brand name cereal, house hold goods, sports clothing, big name athletic shoes, especially famous sports figures endorsed items, and lets not leave out all the electronic equipment and devises, computers, smart phones. These people spend millions at least with the sole purpose is to TEMPT you into deciding that you or someone in your family can not live without their product. Guess what they win hands down all the time.

Can we venture into this thought a little deeper? Have you ever done something you shouldn’t have and afterwards asked yourself WHY DID I DO THAT? To be honest I have. The Bible says, Gods own Word says that the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy, he’s like a lion searching to DEVOUR his prey. Now along the same line of thought in how a manufacturer will go to any length. Not to mention the amount of money spent in advertising. TEMPTING us to go out and buy their product. Can you the reader see a parallel or even see a similarity in how the devil and his demonic realm might operate? And it wouldn’t be right or fair if we don’t mention that we have our very own sinful desires. We can’t always blame the devil, however crafty he might be. Temptation comes in many, many forms, often even the same things just in a more sweeter disguise. And there are even some of us that have been deceived or persuaded into thing that God might be tempting me. God Does not, Can not, Will not ever tempt any of us, however He will test us. Temptation for often comes in ways I don’t expect and is all most always irresistible is some way.

Now let us take a journey into Gods Word, to find Truth, Encouragement, Strength, and Direction. With the desire to allow Him to be our guide while under trials and temptation.

JAMES 1:12-18

12) Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

13) When tempted, no one should “God is tempting me.” For God can not be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; (14) but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.

  1. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown, gives birth to death.
  2. Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. (17) Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (18) He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruits of all He created.

Folks it’s up to us to rely on Christ who lives in us, to be our strength to not allow ourselves to fall into temptation which can cause sin and sin ultimately causes seperation from our Holy God. However crafty the devil is and no matter how irresistible and inviting temptation and sin is, KNOW THIS: Our God has DEFEATED it all with what Jesus did on the cross. If God is for us who can stand against us. Praise God right.

In Christ
