ISAIAH 53:3-6
3) He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering, Like one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (4) Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him and afflicted. (5) But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. (6) We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us have turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He was despised and rejected by men
For most they thought they didn’t have sin
A man of sorrows, familiar with suffering
The pain, He knew nothing will be buffering
Like one from whom men hide their faces
One day He will be the judge of their cases
He was despised and we esteemed Him not
To sentence Him to die was their only plot
Surely He took up our infirmities
Knowing this was not an adversity
He even carried our sorrows
Our penalty is Paid not borrowed
Yet we considered Him stricken by God
The only One that deserves to be awed
Smitten by Him and afflicted
Our sin is why He was convicted
He was pierced for our transgressions
His punishment left a lasting impression
He was crushed for our iniquities
He went to the cross obediently
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
He was sacrificed as the Holy Lamb
By His wounds we are healed
And with the Holy Spirit we are sealed
We all like sheep have gone astray
Each of us have turned to his own way
The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all
From the end to the beginning called the fall
