I thought that I was the power

So I built a high tower

I wanted to reach the stars

But left only scars

Then I built walls that were high

Over my head that touched the sky

Reinforced with mortar and brick

So no one can see how I tick

They were made to keep you at bay

At league to keep you away

The higher that I would climb

To seek pleasures sublime

I thought that I was doing well

But I was on the road to hell

Little did I know

There was a different way to go

The Lord stopped me in my tracks

Now I know there’s no turning back

It was His Goodness that I taste

Unmerited favor and His Grace

He washed me with His Blood

Clean me from all the mud

My life is what I give

To serve Him is how I live

His commands I try to obey

His Word is where I should stay

I am free to live at last

I’ve been freed from my past

I’ve been washed by His Blood

Freed only by His Love

Blessed is the pure in heart

For we will see Jesus

Through His righteousness

Is the only way God see’s us

When we are blind and can not see

On a dead end path

Jesus is the only source

That saves us from God’s wrath

When we’re lost and have strayed away

It’s Jesus that’s our light

He guides us on a narrow path

He protects us with His might

When we have taken all we can

And have endured the test

We put our trust in sovereign God

We know that Jesus gives us rest

In brokenness that I can’t hide

It’s You Jesus that I confide

In my walk it’s Your strength I need

When I break Your heart, it’s Your blood I bleed

Higher than mine is Your ways

From Your Word I do not stray

In my weakness I need You

It’s Your Word that I hold on to

Faith through grace is what I need

On the Cross Christ did bleed

His blood is the sacrifice that atoned for sin

Will I call on Jesus with the mess I’m in

Jesus Christ is the only way

To see Holy God on that day

If you are in need of grace

Or strength to help you in this race

Call on Jesus , He’s our friend

He’ll walk with us till the end

He sent His Spirit to be our guide

He loves us all with arms stretched wide

Life is like show and tell

Since the beginning when man fell

We show the world how we beat those odds

How we walked away from all them gods

Our life is like how we walk

More than the way we sow our talk

The way we talk is how we live

With strength from our Savior

grace we give

Our walk is meant to please our God

With Truth from His Word we are awed

With perseverance we remain steadfast

With grace from our Savior we will last

In the end we will receive a crown

In a place where there will be no frowns

Heaven is a place where there will be no tears

We will not have to hide or stand in fear

We will be giving our Lord all our praise

On that day the church he will raise

Let’s fix our eyes upon Jesus

The author of our faith

Through love is how He sees us

To obey Him is the way

Let’s fix our eyes upon Jesus

A call on our life He placed

The cross is how He freed us

We respond to His call in faith

Let’s fix our eyes upon Jesus

His grace we could never earn

He said He would never leave us

Through trials is how we learn

Let’s fix our eyes upon Jesus

Our ways we must count the cost

His love is what frees us

When He died upon the cross

Let’s fix our eyes upon Jesus

His ways we must learn to obey

His love is how He sees us

When we trust Him all the way

Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,

lay aside every weight, and sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with

patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter

of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising

shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Blessed Be Your Name

Lord, I’ve made my share of mistakes

For granted, You, I never want to take

You are the Rock, in which I stand

I know You will lead me to the promise land

I’ve lived in the desert way too long

Help me to sing Your glorious song

Lead me on the path, of the everlasting way

Help me to walk with You and not sway

It’s in You, that I put my trust

Faith in You, for me is a must

You open my eyes when I am blind

It’s Your Truth, that I hope to find

Your faithful, this I know

Your grace, is what I want to show

You search and find me when I’m lost

My ways, I must count the cost

It’s a white flag, that I raise

To You is who I sing praise

Blessed be Your name

You’ll never change, You’ll always be the same

I was lost and broken all inside

Had twisted emotions that I couldn’t hide

I was all alone with no friends in sight

Being cornered in a field, I had to fight

It was two on one the odds stacked high

I thought they were my friends, I tried to ask why

The betrayal that I felt was more than I could stand

It seemed to me they were guided by satan’s hand

The wind was blowing, it was cold and brisk

When all of a sudden my face caught a fist

We tossed and turned and fell to the ground

The other boy jumped in so we went for a round

All of a sudden a bystander stopped by

She broke up the fight before they could ask why

This was a day I sent a prayer up to God

I asked what was wrong with me and why I was flawed

I don’t know if He answered, I really don’t know

My spirit was telling, telling me to go

Where was I to go, what was I to do

I was so lost and feeling so blue

I had no place to go, I couldn’t go home

I was stuck in this world and felling all alone

I eventually got thru that one lonely day

From then I feared people and kept them at arms bay

From then on I kept to myself

For fear that no one could help

This happened when I was young

Having few friends hurt and stung

But I eventually grew up and moved on

It’s now a memory that has since gone
