A Mountain Called Calvary

 

We know Jesus came from heaven for we’ll see Him face to face

It is His power that he gives us to run this very race

 

It’s all because of mercy, His grace He freely gives

It’s only thru the cross we learn how to live

 

His commands are a guiding force for us to obey

It is His path we walk and learn to not stray

 

His Truth is what frees us from our death and sin

His Spirit is who draws us then comes to live within

 

His grace He freely offers for all who want to partake

It is chains of unforgiveness that He wants to break

 

It’s our heart He wants to change from the inside out

It’s our faith wants to increase so we never have to doubt

 

Jesus is our teacher for He wants us to learn

That grace is a gift that we can never earn

 

Jesus paid the ransom by hanging on the tree

He hung on the mountain called Calvary

Washed By The Blood

I thought that I was the power

So I built a high tower

I wanted to reach the stars

But left only scars

Then I built walls that were high

Over my head that touched the sky

Reinforced with mortar and brick

So no one can see how I tick

They were made to keep you at bay

At league to keep you away

The higher that I would climb

To seek pleasures sublime

I thought that I was doing well

But I was on the road to hell

Little did I know

There was a different way to go

The Lord stopped me in my tracks

Now I know there’s no turning back

It was His Goodness that I taste

Unmerited favor and His Grace

He washed me with His Blood

Clean me from all the mud

My life is what I give

To serve Him is how I live

His commands I try to obey

His Word is where I should stay

I am free to live at last

I’ve been freed from my past

I’ve been washed by His Blood

Freed only by His Love

Blessed Are The Pure In Heart

Blessed is the pure in heart

For we will see Jesus

 

Through His righteousness

Is the only way God see’s us

 

When we are blind and can not see

On a dead end path

 

Jesus is the only source

That saves us from God’s wrath

 

When we’re lost and have strayed away

It’s Jesus that’s our light

 

He guides us on a narrow path

He protects us with His might

 

When we have taken all we can

And have endured the test

 

We put our trust in sovereign God

We know that Jesus gives us rest

Are You A Slave To The Grind

Are you sick and weary and feeling lost

A slave to the grind not counting the cost

Is your aim set high but your head’s hung low

Your eyes they weep not knowing where to go

Is your mind spinning always turning you around

You have smile on your face turned upside down

Are your choices eschewed causing you to doubt

Always going in circles with no way out

At the end of the tunnel you see a light

He’s drawing you close wanting your fight

With arms stretched wide he calls out your name

He wants all your struggles and all your shame

He’ll break your chains and set your heart free

He came to redeem by hanging on a tree

He was scorned and beaten had no deceit

With forgiveness in His heart it’s you He wants to meet

He gives you a choice, while offering you grace

He’ll even give you strength to walk in this race

Give Him your burdens lay them at the cross

It’s salvation He offers for all who’s lost

If the waves are high and you’re lost in a storm

Reach out to Jesus it’s you He’ll transform

Grab His hand and hold on tight

Jesus is the answer all thru this fight

On A Star Lit Night

It was is in the wee hours of a star lit night

Wise men were guided by a star so bright

They were following what the prophets foretold

Bringing with them myrrh, frankincense, and gold

They were gifts for the new born king

The child of which the angels did sing

Conceived by God’s Spirit not by a man

Born of a virgin for this was God’s plan

Sent from God this child sublime

Redemption came from this perfect paradigm

This child came with a message that He must tell

His message of redemption that saves us from hell

This message of redemption we all must hear

Oh Holy Spirit come open our ears

Open our hearts to receive God’s Word

The message of Christ is the message we heard

The Son of God is King at birth

His message is told throughout the earth

If you’re in need of hope on Christmas this year

It’s the message of Christ I pray that you hear

The King Is Born

The King of Israel is born

Unto a world that is sinful and torn

He came for Israel’s lost sheep

But their old ways they’d rather keep

Many miracles He did perform

The Pharisees treated Him with scorn

He healed the sick and the lame

The blind got to see without shame

He had love for all that were lost

His love got Him hung on a cross

Or was it sin that put Him upon that tree

The broken He came to set free

He rose from the grave on the third day

It’s to Him we are thankful we pray

The world is still broken and lost

I am thankful that He hung on that cross

He still comes for all that are broken

His love is what we find hope in

You Are Mighty, You Are Strong

You are mighty, You are strong

You are here and never gone

 

When I am falling, I am raised

I will forever sing Your praise

 

When I am scared you hold my hand

Then lead me back to the promise land

 

When I run, You bring me back

You help me when I am attacked

 

When I stumble and I am falling

It is Your voice that I hear calling

 

When I’m lost You provide a way

Your Word says that I never have to stray

 

When I sin You are there to forgive

It’s You Lord that teaches me how to live

 

When I’m lost You come for me

All because You died on cavalries tree

 

When I finally surrender to God

He will heal me of my flaws

 

As I’m on my knees and pray

It’s You who promised a way

 

You are Mighty, You are Strong Lord

It’s You Lord who I forever long for

His Love Runs Deep and Wide

To get love in this life
We have to start by seeking Christ
We ask Him to forgive our sin
Then His Spirit comes and lives within
We have to let Him change our heart
He will break our chains apart
We let His Spirit be our guide
His Word we will abide

To get joy in our walk
We have to do more than talk
We have to turn from our evil ways
Then walk with Him all our days
The Spirit convicts us of our sin
As we learn to walk with Him
We get to serve our fellow man
As we get used in Gods plan

It’s His peace we want to seek
As we learn to trust Him when we’re weak
Our faith gets tested in our trials
Tho’ we lean on Him all the while
It’s His love that pulls us through
When we’re lost and don’t know what to do
His peace comes when we trust
Although obedience is a must
Christ will never leave our side
Because He loves us both deep and wide

His Name We Proclaim

There once was a man that walked this earth
He came from heaven through a virgin birth

He came to give a message that we all must hear
His voice isn’t loud but His message is clear

Repent and be saved, turn from your ways
Walk with Jesus for the rest of you days

Confess all your sins and forgiveness He will give
He will cleanse your heart and eternally you will live

As you invite Him in a change will be made
He will break your chains and you’ll no longer be slaves

His Spirit will come and live inside your heart
He will be your guide so turning from sin will be your start

As you walk with Him His message you will proclaim
You will extend His love so people will know His name

It’s Your Grace That Saves

When I turn away and run from You
It’s because of sin that has me stuck like glue
I try to do things on my own
Then whine and cry, I moan and groan
I think of You in heaven above
How You give grace and extend Your love
I think of how you died for me
By hanging from a dogwood tree
It’s Your cross that saved my life
You freed from a life of strife
Why do I turn and run from You
I honestly don’t have a clue
I have Your Spirit that lives inside
It’s my flesh and Your righteousness that do collide
I ask myself what’s my plan
I turned back to You and ran
As I drop to my knees and pray
It’s my sin that I confess and say
Lord please forgive me this I ask
Give me strength to not run to my past
As I crawl back into Your arms
It’s Your love that guards me from harm
Lord I’m thankful for Your grace
It’s what saves me in this race
