Oh Lord, I Come To You Today

 

Oh Lord I come to You today

On my knees I humbly pray

It’s my sin that wants to act out today

Oh Lord, help me find another way

Lead down the narrow path that’s straight

I want to enter into Your Pearly gates

From my sin You died to set me free

I draw close to You so the devil has to flee

You came and conquered death

That gave me my first new breath

Oh Lord, as I struggle now

Help me put my feet to the plow

I was in chains and you set me free

Now in Your presence I want to be

I want to walk with You in the cool of night

Oh Lord, forever show Your Light

As an example You washed my feet

So I can share Your hope down on the street

The gospel helped me respond in such a way

That I never want to stumble and stray

Oh Lord, be my guiding light

Help me to stand firm in this fight

As I bring my burdens to the cross

Thank God, I’ll never again be lost

You gave Christ to be my solid rock

I’ll forever be in Your flock

Jesus Lives

Jesus Lives

 

He walked the earth 3 ½ years

With message to repent

Please open your ears

 

It was that cross

That cross that He died

He gave His message with love

For even those who had pride

 

He loved the world

Even tho they were lost

He hung on the tree

Even tho He counted the cost

 

He shared the gospel of love

In order to be saved

He broke all the chains

For all those in slaved

 

If you are lost

Or loaded with pride

Open your heart

Let Jesus inside

 

Now you know that He lives

He lives inside your heart

He will clean you up

To give you a new start

 

Now that you’ve tasted

The goodness of God

You can never go back

To a life that is flawed

 

 

The new life that you live

Is the message to serve

Accept our Lord’s gift

The one you’ll never deserve

 

Now that you’ve read this poem

I hope you know this

For those who believe

Jesus Lives

Covered By His Love

 

Dungeons and prisons, do they exist

In my mind, they come with a twist

For a time, I lived without God

Entertaining my life with all of my flaws

I twisted and turned at every little bend

In a dark world, would my heart get to mend

I would go over here, then go over there

Lost in darkness, pulling out my own hair

While entertaining my flaws, I loved my own sin

I was lost in confusion and the mess I was in

It felt like a tunnel, I know I was in a war

To live this dark life became such a chore

This was an addiction, there was no escape

My world was darker than any landscape

At the end of this tunnel, I saw a dim light

But I was lost in this battle, lost in this fight

With nowhere to go, I was at the end of my rope

Holding nothing but pain, with no way to cope

This is the time I knew that I was lost

He stretched out His hand, then led me to the cross

My burdens I brought Him, to that cursed tree

He died for my sins, forgiveness was offered to me

Now I’m white as wool, clean as fresh fallen snow

I belong to my Savior, I know which way I must go

I study His Word, I want to know Him more and more

I’m thankful to God, there was a Knock on my door

From dungeons and prisons, I’m freed by His blood

He washed over my sin, He covered me by His Love

Forever Be My Guide

Lord, it’s my struggles

I lift up to you today

Forgiveness of my sin

is what I ask when I pray

A multitude of sin

is covered by Your love

You are my pardon

sent from heaven above

You called me out of darkness

into the light

My strength comes from You

as I persevere in this fight

When I’m falling down

I reach up for Your hand

You pick me up

then guide me back to the promise land

Oh, how I love

to hear Your still calm voice

It stops the chatter

that’s nothing but noise

I remember when I was lost

You spoke to my heart

You did more than clean me up

You gave me a brand new start

The old is life is gone

I live the new life today

I dig into Your Word

it helps me not to stray

Seal me with Your Spirit

forever be my guide

You’ll always draw me close

You’ll never leave my side

Christ Broke My Chains

Christ Broke My Chains

He Set Me Free

 

You broke my chains to set me free

I now have hope because I believe

 

I believe in Jesus, He is the Christ

He is the perfect Lamb that was sacrificed

 

His Blood was spilled on that tree

He died on the cross to set me free

 

He conquered death over the grave

Three days later to life He was raised

 

He ascended to Heaven to sit on His throne

Heaven is the place we now call home

 

He called me out of darkness into the light

He gave me His Spirit to help in this fight

 

When I stumble and when I fall

I know His voice when He calls

 

When I make mistakes and my sin sticks out

He’s always there to show me a different route

 

I want my desires to match His ways

So, on this path I will not stray

 

I now have hope because I believe

Christ Broke My Chains

 He set me Free

Living In Obedience

Living In Obedience

God is sovereign, He,s in control

He has a message that all should know

On the tree He paid the price

So we can have victory on this night

He came and walked as a man

Living in obedience to Gods plan

He offers mercy, grace for all

On your life has has placed a call

If you’re sick, broken or lost

Bring all your burdens to the cross

He came to save, be your rescue

He’ll lend a hand by being your refuge

So if your sick and and need a a Savior

Look to Him for more than a warrior

If you want to please almighty God

Live in obedience and forever stand in awe.

What Am I

I take and take and take

In your skin I make you quake

I pose as the angel of light

With me you’ll do nothing but fight

You will fight to keep me around

As I turn your life upside down

I first come as your friend

Life with me never has to end

I’m your secret that will destroy

I will use you as my toy

They say curiosity killed the cat

You thought that I was phat

My aim was to destroy your life

To take your family and wife

All you have is what I took

I would even take your looks

Your dignity and pride were next

There was nothing I would reject

I caused you nothing but pain

On the just and unjust it will rain

I take and take and take

In your skin I make you shake

You quiver when I’m around

I turned your life upside down

Lost and Broken

Are you lost and broken,

And can’t find your way

 

Have no place to live

Therefore you stray

 

Are you thirsty and hungry

With nothing to eat

 

Cold in the winter

With no shoes on your feet

 

Have you lost your cloak

With no shirt on your back

 

Feel all alone

Running from satans attack

 

Are you broken and lost

With no place to go

 

Turn to the Lord

It’s His way He’ll show

 

He’ll guide you and keep you

He’ll show you the way

 

He will teach you to be humble

He will teach you to pray

 

He will draw you in close

He will draw you from afar

 

He will teach through His Word

He will heal all your scars

 

He is calling you out of darkness

And into the light

 

He wants no one to be lost

He gives Eternal Life

Washed Down A Slippery Slope, Raised With Jesus

When you are digging into life by your fingernails

You are grasping at the air like a windblown sail

You stop for a breath of air as you huff and puff

Your minds going crazy as you growl and gruff

 

Is it sin in your heart that you secretly hide

Down a slippery slope as you slosh and slide

You start to confess and breathe with a sigh

Your heart is relieved as Christ draws you nigh

 

But the devil is prowling as if he’s looking to kill

It’s your effectiveness that he wants to steal

So you cling to the cross with everything you have

Christ heals your wounds better than liniment and salve

 

But the devil’s still a prowling as if on a hunt

He lurks in the dark always trying to pull a stunt

He tries to fill your head full of lies that make you quake

It’s your joy that he keeps on trying to take

 

If he gets you going and causing you to doubt

He’ll have you hanging your head causing you to moan and pout

Thankfully Christ never leaves you all alone

It’s your heart that Gods Spirit makes His home

 

God’s Word is implanted in our heart

It’s how we lean on Jesus for a daily fresh start

He convicts our heart when we sin

With Jesus as my answer I can win

 

So if your answer is to tug and fight

Turn to Jesus, for He is Light

Our flaws is not how Christ sees us

Our answer is to be Raised With Jesus
